Cancer Resources in North Texas

At Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute at Medical City Healthcare, we work hard every day to ensure every cancer patient we see receives the most comprehensive, individualized care. We do this by providing a full range of cancer resources, including numerous locations throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area, cancer-specific nurse navigators, cancer screening and genetic testing and counseling, dietitians, social workers, pastoral care, palliative care, child life therapists, psycho-social therapists, multidisciplinary conferences and access to clinical trials.

Cancer Nurse Navigators

A nurse navigator is a member of your multidisciplinary care team who serves as an advocate and educator for patients and family during and after the cancer journey. Nurse navigators facilitate communication between the entire care team, help coordinate appointments and transportation and are there to address any other barriers patients may face during their cancer journey.

Multidisciplinary conferences are meetings where doctors across specialties come together to discuss personalized treatment plans for cancer patients, ensuring that each one is receiving the best treatment plan from a team of expert physicians at Medical City and across the Sarah Cannon network.

Cancer Survivorship Care in North Texas

The cancer journey doesn't end after treatment and neither does our care. Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute at Medical City Healthcare offers numerous support groups for cancer survivors where they can share support and their stories with other survivors. We also offer many of the same services cancer patients come to rely on, including palliative care, social work services, psychiatrists, psychologists and nutritional services.
