William Bruce Donnellan, MD

Investigator, Hematologic Malignancies; Principal Investigator

Dr. Donnellan joined Sarah Cannon in 2014 as an investigator of hematologic malignancies. He specializes in treating patients who have been diagnosed with a variety of blood cancers. While Dr. Donnellan treats all forms of blood cancer, he has a special interest in the myeloid stem cell disorders including the myelodysplastic syndromes, acute myeloid leukemia, and the myeloproliferative neoplasms.

He received his undergraduate degree from Auburn University and his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine. He performed his internal medicine residency at the University of Alabama, Birmingham where he received the C. Glenn Cobbs Award for excellence at the Birmingham VA Medical Center and the Claude Bennett Award for outstanding performance at University Hospital. He then completed a fellowship in hematology/oncology at the University of Alabama, Birmingham with a special focus in blood and marrow transplantation. He is board certified in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology. Additionally, he is an associate with Tennessee Oncology, PLLC.
