Carlos R. Bachier, MD joined Sarah Cannon in 2015 as the director of blood and marrow transplant (BMT) research. As part of his role, he designs and leads the clinical trial menu for stem cell transplant at the Sarah Cannon Center for Blood Cancer at TriStar Centennial in Nashville.
Bachier received his bachelor’s degree from Tulane University and medical degree from University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine. After completing an internal medicine residency at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Puerto Rico, he completed a fellowship in hematology at San Juan City Hospital and VA Hospital and a fellowship in hematology, medical oncology, BMT at University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.
Prior to joining Sarah Cannon, Bachier served as the medical director, blood and marrow stem cell transplant at Texas Transplant Institute, a Sarah Cannon Blood Cancer Network partner. Additionally, he has worked as an inspector for the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT) since 2003 and is a member of the board of directors for FACT. He is board certified in Hematology and Oncology.
